Downy Woodpecker, Picoides pubescens:
Horse Cove; near Gurley, Alabama
A beautiful morning afforded me the opportunity
to spend some time in my blind photographing birds in my back yard. This downy was busily feeding at my
woodpecker feeder gathering food and taking it back to nestlings. I was able to grab this shot before it
gathered food and headed back to the nest.
